 Good Bye
Standing near the old steam train waving good bye was Polly. She was upset that her dad was going to war. She tried to open the train doors to beg her father not to go but she couldn’t.
The train started to move off. Polly started to cry frantically but the train did not stop.
For the last time she waved good bye to her dad and he went off to war.

Sarah Says Goodbye

Waving goodbye was Sarah. Her father was going away to war.
Sarah was standing there still watching as the train whizzed past. She wished he didn’t have to go to war.
After a few minutes standing there, she decided to go home. When she got home she travelled into her lonely bedroom and started crying.
A day later she received a phone call saying that her father had died. Sarah was so upset that she cried all day.
The next morning she went to the war office and asked the people if her father was alive. The people said that her father died, but Sarah didn’t believe that.
Sarah went home and was surprised that her father was sitting in a chair in their lounge room. She was so happy .

It’s Sad To Say Good-Bye
Standing on the cold lonely platform Anna was sadly waving good-bye to her dad who was off to war.
“Good-bye dad, I’ll miss you” Anna cried sadly as she hugged her wonderful dad. Then of chugged the steam train.
Anna’s mum told her to forget about her dad but Anna just couldn’t. A few days later in the newspaper it said that Anna’s father had survived the regiment. Anna was so over joyed that her father hadn’t died after all.
